S1E11 – Kickin’ it Old Skool – The Hip Hop Episode Part 1 (w/ DMC of Run-DMC)

Hip Hop was born on the streets of New York City in the 70s, but it was brought to the masses by Run-DMC in the 80s. At a time when hip hop couldn’t be found on the radio, TV or music stores, Darryl McDaniels (one third of the rap trio Run-DMC) was defining the genre for the world. In the first of our exploration in how Hip Hop became mainstream, we start with the 80s and talk to Darryl (DMC) McDaniels about his life and the earliest days of hip hop on the streets of New York from mix tapes to MTV.

And, then in the end, we sync it up!
